Soft eating liquorice made to the original 1957 recipe known as Batch 37, first developed in a small factory beneath Sydney Harbour Bridge. Darrell Lea has been producing chocolate, liquorice and confectionery in Australia since 1927, and this recipe remains central to that history.
Made from glucose syrup and wheat flour, sweetened with molasses, sugar and treacle, then finished with liquorice extract, aniseed oil and a touch of palm oil for a soft bite. Supplied in a 200g pack that slots neatly alongside the wider liquorice range.
