Smooth, silken tofu with a texture closer to custard than firm tofu, best eaten with a spoon rather than chopsticks. A store cupboard staple in Oriental cooking, it also serves as a solid protein source for vegetarian and vegan diets.
Its neutral, creamy consistency makes it a useful lactose free substitute in smoothies and baking, while it can equally form the base of a South Asian style breakfast, sweetened with syrup or molasses, or taken savoury with chilli, soy or spring onion. Supplied in a case of 12 x 305g.
